Join Us for a Panel Discussion at the Integral Center: Cultural Challenges for Emerging Islamic Modernism

By Steve McIntosh

On April 23, 2015 the University of Colorado, together with The Institute for Cultural Evolution think tank (ICE), are co-hosting a discussion on the cultural challenges raised by the Islamic world’s relationship with modernity. The event includes two afternoon public lectures on campus, and an evening panel discussion off-campus at Boulder’s Integral Center.

Our distinguished Islamic guest scholars are Shireen T. Hunter from Georgetown University, and Nader Hashemi of the University of Denver. Their afternoon lectures will focus on reforming Islam and on the Islamic world’s complex relationship with the West.

Our guest scholars will then participate in an evening panel discussion with Professor Michael Zimmerman and Steve McIntosh, President of ICE. The panel will consider the challenges of Islamic reform from the integral perspective on cultural evolution. Both the lectures and the panel will be followed by questions and dialogue with the audience. Please join us!
